HT and MB Pallet Marks Explained

HT and MB are different ISPM15 treatment codes. Neither is a complete account of the pallet's cargo history or a certificate for domestic furniture use. Do not assume that an HT-stamped pallet is clean, or that sanding an unknown pallet makes its previous contamination irrelevant.

Treat unknown material cautiously

If you cannot establish a used pallet's treatment and handling history, choose known clean material for close-contact projects. An MB mark indicates fumigation treatment rather than conventional heat treatment. Seek an appropriate disposal or recovery route for unsuitable timber instead of converting it into household items.
