Heat Treatment vs Kiln Drying for Pallets

Heat treatment and kiln drying are different specifications. Conventional ISPM15 heat treatment follows a time and temperature requirement through the wood, while kiln drying reduces moisture towards an agreed criterion. A kiln process can only satisfy both where each requirement is met and controlled appropriately.

Write down both requirements

If moisture affects your goods, agree the target, measurement method and acceptance point. State ISPM15 treatment and marking separately for an export route. Protect dried timber from later wetting during storage; neither label alone guarantees permanent freedom from mould or suitability for a site's hygiene rules.
