Avoiding Wood Packaging Border Problems

A wood-packaging issue at a border can arise from missing or unsuitable marks, untreated additions or visible pest concerns. Reduce avoidable uncertainty by checking the complete package before dispatch and confirming current destination requirements. Keep supplier and packing records accessible for the responsible shipping team.

Resolve doubts before loading

Do not pack an uncertain timber unit and hope its status can be explained later. Replace or assess unsuitable packaging while there is still time. Ask the forwarder how any inspection notice would be handled, and keep cargo documentation and receiver acceptance tasks separate from the plant-health packaging check.
