How to Specify Pallet Moisture Requirements

If pallet moisture affects your goods or receiver acceptance, make it a written requirement. Agree the criterion, measurement method and point at which it will be checked. ISPM15 treatment is a different specification and should not be used as evidence that the pallet meets an unstated drying target.

Include storage after supply

Describe the protected storage available and the time before loading. Timber can become wet after drying, so the supply criterion should be supported by handling and storage controls. Avoid promising permanent freedom from mould based solely on a kiln-dried description or one moisture reading.
