How to Specify a Wooden Pallet Load

A useful pallet load specification states weight, distribution and support conditions. Total kilograms alone cannot describe a machine resting on narrow feet or cartons spread across the deck. Explain how the pallet is loaded, lifted and stored so the design can be assessed against the most demanding stage.

Provide contact points, centre of gravity where relevant and any fixing forces. Describe floor, rack or stacked support separately. Use the approved limits for the particular pallet and application; a generic heavy-duty label or treatment stamp does not establish a safe working load.
